The Radical Firearms RF-15 is a classic AR-15/M16 model, designed with a Direct Gas Impingement (DI) system , with propellant gases vented without a gas piston, and with the propellant gases acting directly on the bolt carrier. The gas system is made of high-quality stainless steel. The moving assembly complies with American MIL-SPEC standards , is high-pressure tested (HPT), magnetically inspected (MPI), and for greater reliability, it has been coated with a durable Melonite coating for corrosion resistance. The Radical Firearms upper and lower receiver are milled from 7075-T6 aluminum alloy . Standard equipment includes an ergonomic pistol grip and an improved bolt release lever and magazine release button.

The Radical Firearms RF-15 14.5" SOCC RPR carbine is equipped with a 14.5-inch SOCCOM barrel made of high-quality 4140 Chrome Moly Vanadium steel, finished with 1/2×28 threads and a standard A2 muzzle device. The carbine features a free-floating First Gen Hybrid Rail handguard, allowing the user to mount accessories in both the Picatinny standard (MIL-STD-1913/NATO Accessory Rail) and the M-LOK™ system. M-LOK™ ports are located along its entire length, at 3, 6, and 9 o'clock.
